Yvette
Lead Surgery Tech

Yvette started her career working in a boarding kennel in California. After graduating from high school, she studied to become a veterinary technician and moved to Central Florida. She has always had a passion for helping animals. She worked at several animal hospitals including Pet Alliance before continuing her passion and joining the SNiP-it team.
She has a brilliant daughter in high school (who wants to become a vet), a granddog "Stitch" and a grandkitty "Hamilton". She loves to hangout with her daughter and fur babies on the weekend.

Nikki
Surgery Tech
Nikki's life is run by four big cats - "Django", "Sir Pounce", "Phantom", and "Salem".  She joined the SNiP-it team in October 2016 and has been a valuable team member ever since.  Her previous experience included working at an animal emergency room and for a private practice veterinarian.  She loves her work here and gets great joy from helping all types of furry friends, but hold a very special place in her heart for the kitties.
When she isn't taking naps with her kitties, she is playing a constant game of fetch with her youngest cat Salem.

Trixy
Kennel Tech

Trixy is currently attending school to become a certified veterinary technician and then on to becoming a veterinarian. When she graduates from vet school, she is going to specialize in working with larger and exotic animals (not just your typical house pets)! She grew up with animals  on her families farm. Then she added her amazing yorkies "Luna" and "Toby", her bearded dragon "Reptar", and her beta fish "Suchi". Surrounded by animals she knew this would be her lifes work. After working hard and fast at SNiP-it as a volunteer, she obtained the skills to join the SNiP-it team as a kennel tech. In her free time when she isn't working or studying, she is sharing snacks and playing with her baby "Toby".

Lynette
Office Assistant

Lynette is from Staten Island, NY. She has been residing in Florida since 2012. SNiP-it is Lynette's first experience at an animal clinic, something she enjoys to do because of her love of animals. When at home she looks forward to love and cuddles from her two cats. Mishu and Nuzy. She is happy to be apart of the SNiP-it team and helping the community and their animals.

Chrissy
Volunteer Coordinator/Community Outreach

Chrissy escaped from the UK 35 years ago. An animal lover/rescuer since she could walk (driving her poor Mother to distraction), Chrissy worked in aviation/tourism administration until she was fortunate enough to be rescued/adopted by SNiPit.
Under the assumed title of G.D.B.- General Dogs Body, Chrissys prime objective (assisted by her wonky British accent ) is actually part time Volunteer Co-Ordinator but she has been known to do anything and everything needed to help out.
She is the proud Mother of Harley Road Dawg - pibble, Finn aka Phineas Futon - American Mini Pig and others. She also volunteers her time driving animal rescue transports around Florida and Georgia.

Susan Muncy
Clinic Director

Susan joins the SNiP-it Team from Chattanooga, TN. She started her career in rescue & spay/neuter in 2005 when she started volunteering at The Humane Educational Society in Chattanooga. She created a dog walking program to ensure that each pet waiting for their forever home got attention. In 2006, she started as an office assistant at a brand new spay/neuter clinic - Wally's Friends. Her passion for spay/neuter pushed her into the position of Office Manager and Transport Coordinator. In 2015, she left to be a stay at home mom to her son, Emerson. Looking to get back involved with the mission, she accepted the position as Clinic Director at SNiP-it. Moving with her is a wonderful husband, sweet baby boy, 2 dogs "Zoey & Tiana", and a once feral cat "Frankie". She looks forward to helping pet overpopulation in Central Florida! In her free time, she loves spending time with her family, her and her husband always put on a light show at Christmas, and they are also excited to be close to Disney World!

Sheila Westerveld
Executive Director

Sheila is one of the founding members of SNiP-it of Central Florida.  She has over 35 years in Chemical Regulatory Compliance and the Environmental, Health and Safety Industry.  She began the journey to open the high quality, low cost spay/neuter clinic with the pioneer of Protectors of Companion Animals, Gloria Wade, in 2010.  Thanks to the dedication and hard work of so many along the way, SNiP-it of Central Florida was born in August 2016.  As with most parents who must let their children go on to become their own adults, she decided to step back from the Board of Directors as President in 2018.  Now having come full circle in 2020, Sheila is very proud to be back as the Executive Director to take the clinic to new levels of achievement and success.

How it all began....

It started in 2001.  One person, one vision, one animal at a time.  Founder Gloria Wade was determined to end pet homelessness and reduce animal overpopulation in Central Florida.  In 2002, the organization she founded (The Animal Welfare Alliance of Central Florida) was instrumental in convincing the commissioners of Seminole County to eliminate the practice of adopting out intact animals from the County Animal Shelter.  This in turn brought the benefits of spaying and neutering to the community’s attention.  From then to 2013,  with the help of her sister (Joan Frazier), the organization has supported many spay/neuter programs and assisted hundreds of pet owners in need.

In 2014, the organization was re-named and re-structured to be more efficient and more effective. Today, under the name SNiP-it, we are still focused on the vision of assisting the residents of Central Florida with low cost, easy access spay/neuter options. While our name has changed, our mission has not!
